Gift Wrapping Station

A beautiful and uniquely wrapped gift is a way to ensure the receiver of your gift feels special when opening the present. I love finding new and creative ways to wrap gifts that cater to the personality of the individual. Recently I gave a gift to a client who has chosen not to use paper in her home for environmental reasons (paper towels, plates, cups, silverware, napkins etc.) As I began to wrap her hostess gift (cloth napkins,) suddenly I realized I was going to use paper to wrap her gift. Fabric to the rescue.....found some nice fabric to wrap with and made fabric strips from a coordinating fabric for the ties. She enjoyed the gift and also the thought of using fabric as wrapping.

A few years ago I found this vintage drop down desk cabinet in the adorable boutique store on the way to my brother & sister-in-laws home. I knew right away exactly what I was going to use it for, my wrapping station.

The gift wrapping station has allowed my creative mind to have an organized place to make cards, wrap and decorate presents, and let the creative juices flow. This desk is home to scissors, tape, ribbons, colored pens and much, much more. The drawers below are filled with wrapping, tissue paper, gift bags, more ribbons, pipe cleaners, (thanks to my Mom for this technique to use as a wrapping tie) and now some fabric.

Being organized and having all of the wrapping items in my view makes a huge difference in the time it takes to wrap gifts or make a card. The cabinet allows me the time and space to be creative and enjoy the process. This has also inspired me to be organized in many different areas of my life and to be working towards freedom from clutter in my home and life!

I would love to hear how you organize your gift wrapping.
